Hello friends,
As I slowly get my musical gears back up and running, I plan be a little more frequent (but not, like, too frequent) in sending out this newsletter.
I just returned from New York, where I saw a few friends, had a few meetings, and did a lot of walking and engaging in art. I watched the film Mother Mary, which asks “Is creative collaboration a demon?” The answer, I think, is yes. I enjoyed it. I went to the Raphael show at the Met and read On the Calculation of Volume I, by Solvej Balle. It felt like one of those trips where everything I encountered seemed to be in conversation.
While at the Met, I also happened upon “The Cave” by the American photographer Clarence H. White, which reminded me of this New Yorker piece about a woman who spent 500 days in a cave in Spain. I will have more to say about ladies in caves in the future, but for now, here is White’s print:

I am happy to announce a run of Living Room shows through one of my favorite parts of the country (and my first time playing Missoula since 2012). Send me your hiking recommendations and please tell your friends in these towns, as they are word-of-mouth affairs (and usually sell out well in advance).
Surprise Portland Show May 21!
And I am excited to announce an intimate Portland show, May 21, at Second Story Studios. I’ve been admiring all the ways Second Story is making space for music and community, so was thrilled they asked me to play their listening room series. The songwriter Blair Borax (Second Story co-founder) will be performing as well so it’s sure to be a special night. To grab a spot, RSVP here and follow the prompts to buy a ticket.
